Laura is a fun-loving, hard-working girl who brings so much joy to the clinic! She started with us in May of 2022 and came from a previous job with making pet allergy medications. She grew up in Scottsdale, AZ and moved to Iowa in 2015 for college. She attended Iowa State University in 2015 and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor in Animal Science. Laura is a first generation college student and loves working with animals and being able to make a difference in their lives. Her interests in the medical field include exotic medicine, probably due to the wide range of exotics she has at home! She is currently on the path to go back to college and gain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine to become a Veterinarian. Laura will be taking classes at Iowa State University while working at Family Pet part time in the future.
At home, Laura is a proud pet parent to many pets. She has multiple species of animals in her house, including a dog, cat, birds, hedgehog, snakes, a tree frog, and many fish. She loves birds, and would be willing to talk about them for hours if you asked (she describes herself as a bit of a bird nerd)! Laura’s hobbies include all kinds of crafts, crocheting, painting, video games, and decorating her newly bought house! If she could recommend one thing to any pet owner, it would be to learn all that you can and don’t be afraid to ask for help. That’s what we are here for!
